About SRC Women’s Commissioner

Ms. Angela Okyere Mensah is more than just a leader — she is a symbol of resilience, purpose, and grace. A final-year Geological Engineering student, Angela’s journey to becoming Women’s Commissioner has been shaped by perseverance through challenges, doubts, and moments of uncertainty. Yet with determination, faith, and the support of those who believed in her vision, she rose to become a beacon of hope and strength for the UMaT community.

Angela’s leadership philosophy is rooted in the belief that the Women’s Commission is not merely a position, but a platform for real transformation. She envisions it as a space where the voices of women are amplified, where opportunities for growth are created, and where every young woman feels empowered to dream boldly and act confidently.

Before assuming her current role, Angela was actively involved in various mentorship programs, empowerment workshops, and advocacy initiatives, both on and off campus. These experiences deepened her commitment to advancing issues of gender equity, leadership development, and mental health awareness among female students.

Her administration focuses not only on organizing memorable programs but also on building sustainable legacies — initiatives that nurture leadership, foster confidence, and create lasting impact. Angela’s message to every young woman is clear: this office is not just about gatherings or celebrations — it is about shaping futures, uplifting voices, and leaving behind a legacy of courage and excellence.

Through her leadership, Ms. Angela Okyere Mensah strives to ensure that the next generation of women at UMaT stand taller, speak louder, and shine brighter.
